WHO WE ARE
We combat poverty, the roots of which we consider to be insufficient access to education, natural resources, as well as unjust treatment, discrimination, and poor administration. We help people to overcome these limiting circumstances and support them in their ability to improve their lives. We target the roots of these problems and cooperate with the people affected to remove them.
Vostok Donetsk International, Mariupol is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about Ukraine in the US and throughout the world and providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine. We work closely with non-profits and volunteers focused on helping Ukraine. We organize fundraisers, meetings with Ukrainian famous people, round tables discussions dedicated to Ukraine and Ukrainian culture and participate in various cultural events. Since December 2013 we have collected over $3.5M in donations. We base ourselves on the experiences of our own country in the 20th century to provide help in authoritarian and transforming regimes. Just as the free world supported the struggle for freedom in former communist states, we support people engaging in critique and dialogue with power, demanding that fundamental human rights are observed, and striving for more open societies. We support civil society so that it may be the cornerstone of improved maintenance of public affairs in emerging societies and countries.
How money is spent
The are lots of ways you can get involved with Concern’s work through volunteering.
Volunteer and Donate in Ukraine
Concern Shops rely on volunteers and donors to help us run and stock our shops. By helping us you can make a real difference in helping us tackle extreme poverty and transforming lives.
We’re often in need of skilled volunteers to help support our work overseas. These positions generally require some previous work experience or relevant qualifications and, of course, a shared commitment to our goal of eliminating extreme poverty.
